I've been there for Valentine's day... Special menu. Temperature of the dishes really low, quantity was way not enough, and most of all not tasty. Decoration was ok, but entrance still under construction. price of the meal 588 yuan for two people. Includind a (dying) rose. Affordable but really not matching with my expectation for this price.

A bit disappointing. Our dishes were all just OK, and small for the price. In addition, the dining room was freezing, making it difficult to enjoy a lingering meal. The construction out front also takes away from the appeal.

I was there several times, the place has surely future, since the constructing will be soon over and the heating problem also; Shanghai is feared for it's heat.... I eat delicious Sicily Spaghetti, spicy with some tuna and also a nice fresh salad, which I can really recommend. However, I did not eat all the dishes there. The atmosphere quite hip and modern, people who don't like bright places will enjoy it. For sure the bottomless Beer Jug for just 50 RMB added to the fun... Anyway, the prices I find reasonable. Enjoy! :-)

stay hotel near this restaurant, spend 2 nites dinner and was tasty food (almond sole fish), firendly service w fashion interior. will be visit them again. Good luck for them!!

Place looks a little shabby by daylight. The food was good and well presented. Service was okay. Waitress spoke enough English to ask questions but not enough to understand answers and messed up the order a couple of times but the manager jumped to the rescue. I'd recommend it if you're in the area but wouldn't make a special trip to go there.

Too Much Fusion?
With its industrial dining room filled with overstuffed powder blue furniture, MTL Fusion had us a bit confused right from the start. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes derived from many Western influences but didn't quite hit the mark on those we tried. The Caesar Salad (RMB28) had delicious bites of Parmesan cheese and bacon but was covered in an almost sweet and overpowering dressing. The Lyon Style Chicken Breast (RMB58) looked beautiful but the cold potatoes and chewy chicken left a lot to be desired. The Mixed Sausages (RMB48) were well cooked and accompanied by tasty mashed potatoes, although not quite up to the standards set down by our German heritage. The best dish of the evening was the Texas BBQ Spare Ribs (RMB68) which, despite being difficult and messy to eat, were covered in a unique sweet and spicy sauce and paired well with a mug of Guinness (RMB40). While service was attentive, we had to keep our coats on throughout the meal, as the room was rather cold. All in all, even with the extensive food and drink menu, we walked away a little disappointed that the vast array of fusion food options hadn't led us to one stand-out winner. --Dawn Carlson
