This sophisticated Hunan restaurant has become somewhat of an institution among foreigners thanks to their exquisitely prepared dishes. Electrify your tongue with the chili-sprinkled ribs, sticky banana balls and chili-soaked chicken. Efficient staff also serve up less spicy but equally delicious dishes which are bound to leave a lasting impression.

Seriously popular High quality cooking, rapid service; dinner here is worth the wait.

Worth the Wait I have been told many times in China that the way to judge whether or not a restaurant is good is by how many people are waiting to get in. At Gu Yi, I'm one of the ones with my nose to the glass waiting to get a spot and am never disappointed. This restaurant is a great choice if you're looking for an authentically spicy experience.

the stars: ribs, that open-faced fish with lots of green chili, and those decadent banana balls.

Gu yi, last time i went there I saw a something i never wanted to see in a restaurant. It was one of my favorite place, i don't think i am going back there

good food. Not as spicy as I expected. Ribs and the spicy chicken rocks!!! The only bad experience is the tables were set too close to each other and there was no non-smoking section. 2 tables on both sides of mine contained many big smokers. So had to leave the poor last piece of rib and left the restaurant as soon as possible. Guess it just happent everywhere in China

This Fumin Lu favorite serves up a mean chicken and bamboo shoot hot pot, spicy and delicious. You don't have to devour the hot peppers like we do, but you'll definitely be devouring the rest.

Damn good. Cheap. The lamb is absolutely ridiculous...melts in your mouth.

Nothing to say about this restaurant except for the long queue, but that's make our appetite more and more excited. Gu Yi has a nice food , nice environment and it's cheap according to the taste and the position of this restaurant at the city. It's worth it.

real deal check out gu yi for some seriously spicy food. be ready to sweat and drink some cold beer. the ribs are fantastic, the spicy prawn pot was rippin hot, and the clams (when available) are very nice. definitely worth the trip.
