Located in the Shanghai 1930 Xinxin Startup Hub, this waterside eatery features a nice selection of wines. It's known as an Italian restaurant, but that's not all it offers. On top of the regular pizza and pasta options, the menu also includes other international dishes like chicken wings and tacos.
Perched on the second floor of the 1930 Creative Industry space just behind 1933, Marcato & Friends is an ideal way to spend the afternoon, either sitting outside and enjoying the buildings of yesteryear — i.e. the former slaughterhouse just across the small river — or taking in the cozy indoor atmosphere.
Marcato & Friends has a smaller menu, but we dare you to find something that isn't delicious. The restaurant has clearly chosen to master a few select dishes as opposed to having a gigantic menu with simply average offerings. Anything in the pasta section is a clear winner.
