This sleek eatery has a penchant for the dark and mysterious. The establishment caters to the upscale diner who doesn't mind paying higher prices for laud-worthy steaks and wood-fired pizzas and the riverside locale is perfect for breezy outdoor dining in the summer.

Are you looking for a bad experience? Go to the Kitchen. If you're not a millionaire tennis player or a famous politician you're better not too go there. Guest of first class only are accepted. The food is really not worth the money. The atmosphere in the restaurant is terrible. I can not really understand how this place is always overcrowded... You go there once and you do not want to go there anymore...

The kitchen is great, one of our favorite places to eat in Shanghai. Great food, great views, and adequate service. Laly doesn't know what's up!

It may be hard to reserve a table for the same day, but it will be well worth the wait when you try their creamy gnocchi in a mushroom sauce. The Kitchen is an upscale Italian restaurant with great views of Huangpu river and largerly western clientelle. They have a good selection of wood-fired pizzas that can rival those in Italy. If you are ready to pay the American prices, I recommend you try their delicious cocktails, some of which you can't find elsewhere in Shanghai. Staff is friendly and speak great English.
