A comfortable groove radiates from the warm walls of this Cuban establishment where a variety of homestyle dishes including black beans, crushed maize tamales, roast chicken and a delectable picadillo a la Habanera are authentically prepared. You'll even get the chance to taste Havana Rum flown in from the motherland.

Overpriced, tasteless Cuban food I give El Cubano a C-. The service was horrible - we were the first people there that night, yet our food came out lukewarm, almost cold. The only part of the meal that was hot was the sweet plantains. We ordered four main dishes, and they screwed up three orders. I ordered sweet plantains but they gave me sweet potatoes. My friends ordered fried plantains but were given sweet plantains. Also, the shrimp was overcooked (dry and tough) and all of our dishes were very bland. At least the portion size was okay - they didn't skimp, but they didn't give a lot too. For the ridiculous prices, I expected a little more food to make up for the poor quality. The reviews claimed the food to be authentic, but my friend and I (we've eaten in Cuba, Miami, and Versailles in Los Angeles... mmm) both agreed that the food was almost terrible. The saving grace of the night was the complimentary battered peanuts they forced upon us while we waited forever for our main dishes.
