Had delivery again after about a 3 month hiatus and I must say I was pleasantly surprised to so a decrease in delivery time and increase in food quality. The babaganush which some times is a hit and others a miss, was fabulous. Good job Haya's!

I went there for sunday lunch last week, order 2 appetizers 1 Salad and 2 mian dishes. I was happy with all the dishes, very tasty. The grill meat (chicken, lamb) was superb and tender. I am a first-timer for mediteranean food so I won't be able to tell if this is original....but again..I like it.

Hummus was a lot better than I expected. You know how american movies always make fun of it. Pita bread was so tender and soft. I noticed they also have some pastries items and loaf bread on the shelf for sale. So I belive making good bread is one of their expertise.

Grilled chicken on chicken salad was great. Portion is big enough to share with 2 persons and it costs around 45-55 rmb (I don't remember exactly how much).

The other appetizer was tomato paste stir-fried with caramelized onion, olives with 2 eggs cooked on small cast iron pan. I ate this with pita bread which could be filling (and it was).

The only complaint would be all the dishes may be too salty. But I belive they were meant to be eaten with Pita or lafa bread.

Main dish arrived and I didn't have room for it. Shame on me, I digged a fork into my israelis sanwish...and it was a devine. Too bad I have to take home that big piece of goodies.

The service was good. Staff seems to know what they are selling. The decoration outside lookes like it's under renovation but inside is okay. I'll go there again.

Food was mediocre at best and with quite disappointing. It's tough to do things well in Shanghai as I have lived here for almost a decade, it doesn't mean you can't try. The latkes were lukewarm and really dark, meaning they were overfried and the oil is very old. When we ate it, they added no salt or any seasoning. These small details are really annoying because this is supposed to be better quality food and service, but it wasn't like that. The french fries, like the latkes came lukewarm and we were the only customers at the place. How hard is it to get the food right? The main courses, chicken steak and vegetables mufka also came lukewarm and not very tasty at all. And finally after lunch, my friend had diarrhea after eating the chicken steak, no joke. You can easily tell, they don't use good ingredients or quality vegetables with their food. The simple details of seasoning the fries, latkes, or the food coming out hot just wasn't there. Their breads are ok, but the food was not good. I would much rather eat at Chinese places or street food, at least you are getting the right deal and price for the food. The stuff you order is piping hot, they make no pretensions that their food is gourmet, and it's much better than restaurants like Haya.

New Eats | Hummus a Tune

This venue’s recently expanded menu had us flipping the pages in awe and indecision until the attentive owner brought over a complimentary sampler to rescue our hunger-crazed minds.

Armed with pita bread, we dipped into the starter combo (¥55), a succulent selection of creamy hummus the envy of every chickpea in town, minty tabbouleh and a double round of olive-oil drizzled baba ghanouj and roasted eggplant.

We’d arm wrestle our grandmothers for the last morsels. Discs of labaneh (¥30), tangy Lebanese cream cheese held our admiration. The flavors of the marinated lamb and roasted garlic were melded to perfection in the lamb shish kebab (¥70).

We hope the crunchy outside, bready-inside falafel (¥40), infused with “special seasoning,” has a patent pending.

Too full to move, we’ll be returning soon for the baklava. Georgia Sparling

Really poor delivery service for lunch. They did not accept responsibility for their mistake of delivering the wrong order. But after an argument with their manager for half an hour they agreed to send their driver to give me a refund. They also tried to say they would send the correct delivery....I didn't want to wait another hour and did not even feel like eating the food they said I could keep that belonged to someone else.

We're all fans of eggplant in Shanghai, right? We swung by this Mediterranean eatery and dished on their cold eggplant starter, thinly sliced grilled eggplant with a balsamic vinaigrette that went really well with a little hummus. Very good.

East-Med granny cooking. Not the best or most refined east-med food, but full of flavours and feels like home. Everything we had was nice and fresh. Appetisers are better than the mains though, but if you are like me and can eat five days worth of calories just by stuffing yourself with baba ganoush and pita, that's not really a problem. Slightly sulky staff, but ok.

Had dinner there wt a few friends (incl an Israeli) - and collectively decided it was the worse food we had in month. Hummus was passed it date and all acidic, tabulleh had parsley almost black from being just old, the moussaka had a cinnamon-butter sauce on it and tastes revolting. Auch. And the manager had some meek answers to our questions why he serves an old hummus. Oh well, never again for us.
