With its secluded alley location, this stylish Shanghainese restaurant may be slightly hard to find, but the superb menu makes the search worthwhile. Lighter flavors in dishes such as the shrimp balls, lemon chicken and crispy duck make this an in-demand foreigner favorite.

I went to have a quick lunch there, and I really love the place. The owner from HK was so kind to me, I tried their Fan Qie Chao Dan which was exquisite and for dessert I got a Ice Peach with a fine sorbet, it was so refreshing. I love the place...

No bones, and clean tablecloths. That's about the only good things you can say about the place. The food isn't disgusting but is totally uninteresting and just not good. Really the food at any random Shanghai place is substantially better, even those 8 kuai for a plate of rice places. Go to a local-style place with a decent reputation and there's simply no competition.

This is the place to bring foreigners who are queasy with heads, feet, tails, shells, & bones. You can knock yourself out with individual orders of roast duck, fried rice and shrimps. Good quality and reasonable prices. There is no other place like it in Shanghai! Freaky...

This place is great! Authentic spices and taste minus the heads, feet, bones etc.

1st restaurant I take foreigners when arriving in Shanghai. Make sure you call ahead as it is a very popular place.

what impress me is their attention to details like providing magazine to patron who dines alone and checking if patrons need taxi booking at request of billing. The food is good.

My favorite restaurant for chinese food. No bones, no heads, everything very tasty. Variety is excellent, prices are very reasonable. Perfect choice for the evening out!

This would be the perfect place to take visitors from back west who want a taste of the East...if only it wasn't full of other people doing exactly the same.

Still you can't fault the food- it's the greatest hits of Chinese without the hassle; no bones in the meat, no fish eyes, no oily film.

The Hairy Crab I had there was amongst the best meals I've ever had in Shanghai, or anywhere- and when you pay they bill, they fetch you a taxi.

Classy.

Absolutely a good choice. Good Shanghainese food, but comfortable for western visitors. A ton of white faces, mised in with a few locals that are obviously hosting.

Been there many times. It is my 'welcome-to-shanghai' restaurant for all my guests . Excellent Shanghaiese food! Not too wild , not too oily . The taste is just RIGHT!! Pekking duck dish is a killer! Highly recommend !
