This tiny restaurant is packed at all hours of the day and was once featured in the Wall Street Journal. Popular among locals, it only has four tables and is recognized as one of the finest Shanghainese establishments in town. As such, the food here is oily, sugary and doused in soy sauce. There's no menu to order from, so you'll have to speak directly to the female laoban to see what they've got available that day.
