did i have a bad night or what? i had been to whampoa a year ago and had a fun night with some visiting friends and paid what I thought was a fair price for a good meal with a view. i revisited 3 weeks ago with another out of towner and what a dissapointment...the restaurant was dead for a friday night, service was neither here nor there and we didnt have a view at all..the food was completely forgettable...i cant even remember what we ordered now...with a bottle of basic wine the total came to 1600rmb for 2. the only memorable thing was the clunky echo of the waitresses cheap shoes walking up and down the empty floorboards and i left wishing I had saved myself 1200rmb and taken my mate to charmant on huaihai road instead where the food is much tastier, atmosphere better and a lot lot cheaper. never to repeat.

DAMN GOOD FOOD! Spectacular, succulent Shanghai cuisine. Reasonably priced with a fantastic view. The service was good as well -- the head chef came out to introduce himself and make sure everything was to our liking. Kudos.
