The physical surroundings are high end but the service is not and the dishes are not good enough to overcome the feeling that the wait staff (whose jeans do little to complement the Old Shanghai feel) just started working yesterday.
If you do find yourself in this part of town with a group of hungry newcomers who want to see the physical evidence of old Shanghai and are too tired to go somewhere else, be sure to order the drunken chicken. It's quite good.
