As upscale as possible but still earthy and comfortable. Weathered antiques and warm lighting create an easygoing ambience. Expensive yet worthwhile for special occasions.

YongFoo isn't so elite anymore - it's for non-members too! This is one of the tastiest and most beautiful places to dine in Shanghai. Wonderful for special occasions or impressing visitors. The Beijing duck is sublime, as are the melted cheese giant prawns. The wine list isn't bad either. Just be sure to bring a stack of Mao, since the pricing IS still elite.
