Spicy Sichuan lovers should not miss this escape into tongue-tingling culinary adventures. Tobacco shroud aside, this locale offers fiery flavored rabbit, bull frog, duck, beef and the requisite beer guzzling required to have a good time. The menu also boasts some excellent hot and cold selections for those less inclined to sweat while feasting.

Masks, Smoke and Fiery Tongues
For purists there is Yu Xin, and for tourists there is South Beauty. But for those who fit the category "afraid of not spicy" and practice drinking, smoking and laughing as they ravish excruciatingly spicy fare, there is Ba Gu Xiang Qing. Perched in a corner of Gubei's business-centered nothingness, it serves Sichuan food that has not forgotten the province it originated from. A shroud of tobacco mist and reckless maotai toasting provides full immersion "rawr" even before ordering. As for the menu, it is wise to let your hair down and start slurping marrow from the meaty beef bone (RMB15), swallow a duck tongue (RMB8), pick out the (utterly addictive) toothpick beef (RMB28), grab a mind-blowing, tear apart-inducing rabbit leg (RMB8), and then order more beer. "Afraid of spicy" folk will delight in fabulous drunken prawns with wholesome barley (RMB58), savory pimento-flavored stewed bullfrog with stones in the pot (RMB32) and their signature cold pork starter. --Katya Knyazeva
