This house concentrates all efforts on making one dish perfect, to a splendid result. Their stir-fried hotpot frog is beany, slightly spicy, and deeply sweet, interspersed with lotus root, crunchy sweet potato chips and wedges of softened garlic. All of the menu is contained on a narrow vertical tablet with no English or pictures, but the bullfrog hotpot sits rightfully at the top of it (and costs 69 yuan). It is followed by oil-soaked mouth-watering frog, served in many Sichuanese restaurants, and beef bone hotpot. The rest is cold starters (some surprisingly delicious, like sharply marinated eggplant) and stir-fried vegetables at low prices. The economical waiter would not let the two of us over-order, and indeed: the frog pot is enough to feed five people, and never gets boring.
