Description

Orang3 is the most recent addition to the South East Asian restaurant scene, located on Huang Jin Cheng Dao in new Gubei. People are already raving about the Ngoh Hiang, Penang Prawn Noodles, Beef Rendang, Curry Chicken bread bowl and the Roti Prata with Fish Curry. Open early serving Hainanese Coffee with condensed milk and Kaya Butter toast. Open late with a great selection of cocktails, beer and wine. Grace Leow the head chef will turn your taste buds upside down with her mind blowing creations! Come and enjoy a glass of wine on the large private patio overlooking the walking street, sit in the dining room and tease your taste buds, or have an ice cold pint in the bar area while watching your favorite sporting event!

Traditional Eats, Kaya Treats

A stylish stairwell led us to a bright, spacious patio with a smart décor which lent an immediate, cozy feeling to the place, catering to families and singles alike. A hungry bunch, we grabbed some English mags and a patio sofa and dove right into the menu of Singaporean favorites. Tender beef satay (YY48), spicy Laksa noodles (YY58) and chicken curry (YY58) served up fresh was downed along with cold Tiger drafts (YY35) and proved to be an ensemble of Southeast Asia at its tastiest. Our pant seams were tugging but our taste buds still called for overstuffed Mushroom Wantons (YY38) and the chef's Turnip Cake special (YY38), a savory partner to our sweetened Hainanese coffees (YY18) and Kaya Ice Cream Toast (YY28) heaped sinfully high. With traditional eats and kaya treats reasonably priced from morning to night, this newest kid on Gubei's block should have the competition worried. --Stephanie Thomas
