From the patio of this Iberian oasis along the waters of the Huangpu River gaze upon the best parts of the Bund while sipping on wine and nibbling tasty tapas. Spanish melodies set the mood for venturing beyond the Spanish omelet to try citrus marinated tuna or stuffed squid bathed in ink.

Second Bite | Tapalicious
Renovations have transformed this Spanish restaurant's exterior while Executive Chef Bonilla, after learning new techniques with Ferran Adrià last year, has completely reworked the kitchen. The menu is now full of modern tapas made with molecular gastronomic techniques.
We tried the ravioli with homemade sun-dried tomatoes (¥58): three fat ravioli stuffed with flavorful codfish and chickpeas. Absolutely heavenly. Cubes of beef tenderloin (¥68) appeared crackling with five kinds of crushed peppercorn and topped with a dab of picual, a type of spicy olive oil found in Spain. A plate of pan-seared foie gras bites (¥118) were bedded over mini apple tart tatins. The caramelized apples with goose liver was a rich and sassy pairing.
Our favorite of the night, though, was the salad in glass (¥60). This layered creation consisted of a sweet, raw Japanese scallop, hard-boiled egg and diced avocado enveloped in high-quality extra virgin olive oil and served in a small whisky glass. Pricey, but these tapas are some of the best we've had in Shanghai.
