Cheers Wine gives us a nice break from all the techno and hip-hop bars with Old World China antique decor, great wines, fine dining and nice supple music. The bar offers a carte du jour of homemade fusion foods and tailor-makes menus for private functions.
Modern wine bar with traditional Chinese decor. Perfect for wine-lovers missing the good-old-days in China.
Toasting traditions With new techno clubs springing up like mushrooms, Cheers Wine makes a nice break from ear-deafening music. We admit being a little scared at first, but the pitch-black lane led to an Old World China paradise, furnished with antiques dating back to the Qing Dynasty. Walk-ins will see a menu of homemade finger foods (from ¥50), and the Malaysianborn chef tailormakes menus for private functions. Sp e c i a l i z i n g i n wines , the l i s t includes careful selections from top wine-making destinations. New series are introduced regularly and every guest receives a omplimentary glass of their Vintage house wine (Chile:¥28/glass, ¥136/bottle; China:¥25/glass, ¥98/bottle) as a welcome drink. Sipping the full-bodied Montes Cabernet- Carménère (¥268) while soaking up the Chinese backdrop, we were glad we didn't back off because o f i t s o b s c u r e locat ion. -Wipa Arunoprayote
