Tried it and was not impressed. Yes, they have very nice wines, but the service was horrible.

Very tasty food, good wine selection, yada yada.

The one time I've been there, the service was excruciatingly slow. There were table fliers advertising a happy hour 2 for 1 type deal. The table next to us had 4 expat girls who were just leaving, and got into a big argument with the waiter over the deal.

Ah, we speak Chinese, we'll be fine. But when it came time to pay, the waiter tried his very hardest to screw us out of the deal too. When the manager came, with a long sour faced and much reluctance, he finally let us have the deal.

5 stars if not for the service.

Love enoteca! Date and I had an amazing time on a Tuesday. Cheap wine, great ambience and we went home happy.

Ahhh... good memories!

I am contributing this since I know that the manegement of Enoteca reads it:

  1. yet another night and still feel the same as shared in the above comment (home)

  2. Will not sue you for the hangover and the lack of sleep

  3. The chocolate pudding sort of thing passed the girlfriend test and she actually liked it better than the lava cake!

  4. Room for improvement: I know you are a wine bar, but why not provide some bottled drinks for the non-believers. TsingTao brown bottles and a tang li shui plus a bottle of Bombay and I can bring those friends that insist to stay off the wine list during summer

All the best Oscarlito

P.S.> Penoo: if it was me talking loud my sincere apologies :-)

I'm a regular from the 1st Enoteca which is my favorite place in town. great wine, the best value in town and surprising good food In this second outlet, i've been there couple of times and they still surprise me everytime i'm going with new offers. jazz night, BBQ, amazing brunch, wine flights ( the only real one in town i think), new food menu, and last time i tried the recognised set lunch.... simple and perfect. and friendly service as the first one. Don't miss it

not sure if people that literally live at the venue are able to write an unbiased review. Well, I do have a home so there most certainly is a reason: Actually there are

  1. Great Wines at Fair Value Are you one of these guys that feel bad to order the cheapest wine on the menue, because they expect it to be a desaster plus the staff gives them the look. Well you can do that at the Enoteca! And even at a 100 RMB you get a decent wine. Of course there is also an up-prize section and it is the choice that I like so much. You can actually order according to the occasion (an easy summer night on the patio vs. drinks with a client and wine lover)

  2. Good Food Admittingly the food does not come at a value-for-money ratio as the wine, but the quality is outstanding and once you have a reputation for liking their baguettes the supply chain works well. I was considering to take away one star because they took the lava chocolate cake off the menue, but you find that almost everywhere now and it never matched with the white wine anyway :-)

  3. Service To keep this short: Fast, efficient, friendly!

  4. Atmosphere Now that people found out about this second branch and true XinTianDi alternative it is getting sometimes hard to find a table and a tat loud, but still, it is a nice place to hang out and enjoy a glass or two!

Hope you enjoy our "living room" as much as we do .....

Believe it has a new manager, and was really disappointed with my recent visit.

Happy hour didn't end up to be such a good deal. Poured us a different wine from our happy hour order, hence no buy 1 get 1 free...

Would have been ok if they informed us before hand... making it worse, the manager said "We'd need to charge you anyway, coz' we have already poured it into your glass!" when there was in fact still a bit of wine left in the glass as she poured... =S

I went there 2 times last weekend. Friday and Saturday. As someone mentioned, there were some people who were drunk and spoke very loudly. It was breaking up a quite and cosy mood to the others. Everything was good that the wines are various and servers are kind and friendly and the salad is also good.

One thing that I ask to the shop is to sell the french fries.

compact but covenient, right in the middle of things. The shop offers their own brand of wines - Eno Terra, which ranges from 200 to 1,000. I perfer their whites over reds, but should try if for yourself.

Overall very good experience and excellent food. Gets a bit too loud in volume when the house is full.
