City Weekend Says

This new destination for spice heads features fiery Northern Yunnan dishes, including many Dai minority specialties. Try the succulent shrimp cooked xishuangbanna style, fresh cucumber with Dali-style pastry, and spicy beef in lettuce wraps. The staff of Yunnan natives even blend the house tea themselves.

Contributor Description

Authentic, charming, flavorful food in a comfortable environment. The former head chef from Lost Heaven has struck out on his own and created a more flavorful vision of Yunnanese cuisine. Spicy dishes from the Dai ethnic minority dominate the menu, but it gets rounded out with hearty Northern Yunnan food, and a couple of gems from the Mountainous Northwest of the head Chef's home town. The dishes are well prepared, all the staff are Yunnanese (kitchen and front), and they do an excellent job of bringing exotic and fresh flavors to Shanghai. The only draw back is that they have started reducing the spiciness to better match Shanhainese tastes, so request spicy if you can take it (it's worth it).
