On July 1, 1921, the first National Congress which was held at the Bo Wen Girls' School. History buffs can visit the renovated site situated in Xintiandi, which now houses a well-curated museum explaining the rise of communism in China. The main attraction is a very realistic wax figure scene showing a young Mao Zedong in discussion with his comrades.
