Upon arriving at this spa we were immediately offered some light refreshments--a salad, sandwich, fruit plate and tea--which we chose to enjoy outside on the comfortable deck patio before beginning our treatment. After entering our room, a crisply designed space with dark wood and rich tones, we donned robe and settled in to enjoy a foot soak complete with rose petals and essential oils. The therapist scrubbed our feet and calves with a salt scrub, then skillfully massaged the tension from our soles. Next our therapist set to work kneading the stiffness out of our shoulders during an aroma oil back massage. After a quick 10-minute interlude in our treatment room's private steam room and a relaxing hot shower surrounded by multiple jets of gentle warm water (we lost track of time during this one), we were ready to move on the final stage of our treatment—the facial. Facials are customized to each guest. In our case, we tried the Cool Masque Modelant Treatment, a gentle combination of cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturizing followed by the application of a cool mask. We slipped in and out of a light slumber during the process, put at ease by the therapist's gentle touch and carefully timed pressure point techniques. Once complete, we emerged feeling light, fresh and rejuvenated and more particularly wishing we had similar shower and steam bath facilities to step into back home at our apartment.
