Nothing really marks this venue as stand out from any other bars in Shanghai. Drink specials make otherwise relatively expensive prices easier to swallow though. The outside decking area is nice in good weather and until then it’s good for invading with a group of friends to play darts and pool.

I had good time there last weekend. good music, nice staff, will be there soon again.

This place is horrible. It is always empty, and the girls that work there are more interested in getting you to buy them drinks rather than letting you have a good time. I say stay away, there are much better places around the city.

It's cleaner and tidier than my home but has the same lack of people. 2nd Home with its pictures of scantily glad girls and musicians gives the feel of an adolescent's den but without the angst and grunge. Little seems to have changed from the venue's previous incumbents, Pilpil Pub, and in fact the old sign on the landing remains. Prices without the specials are not particularly good at YY35 for a large Carlsberg and YY45 for spirits; happy hour last until 11pm though, so it's not a terribly bad deal. The downstairs area is centered around the dark wood bar and has a few red sofas to relax on. If you head upstairs, take advantage of a dart board and pool table. Although this place is still a bit rough around the edges, it could well be one to invade as a group and make it your own. -Mark Andrews
