Bee Dees is a cozy neighborhood bar that features live musical entertainment Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with impromptu sessions that might happen any night. The walls are festooned with original album covers, 45 rpm records, pages from historic magazines and classic rock 'n' roll and blues posters. The clientele is an eclectic mix of expats, Westerners and Asians, and Chinese folks. The music on the sound system spans the spectrum from Motown and Memphis to London and Lagos, including artists such as Led Zeppelin, Johnny Cash, Billie Holiday, Coldplay, Fela Kuti, The Rolling Stones, Amy Winehouse, Dengue Fever, Duke Ellinton, Elvis (Presley & Costello) and much more! Inexpensive drinks, a friendly staff, great music and a downtown location make this a great hangout to bring old friends or make new ones. The Tuesday and Thursday night rock and roll jam sessions features some of Shanghai's best musicians in free flowing musical mayhem. Come in and sing a song, pick a guitar or thump the house drum set. Guitars, keyboards, bass, PA, mics and amps provided by Bee Dees.
