Although the eclectic décor and bass-less hip-hop on the speakers in this small-scale bar hardly sets the scene, we were quickly won over by the amiable owner, Lucy and her staff. Blue Sky has been open since late-September and boasts a modest beer list including essentials like Tiger (RMB35), Qingdao (RMB35), Corona (RMB40) and Erdinger (RMB50), with Tiger on tap (RMB30-40) as well. The bar also has a variety of cocktails (RMB40-50) and a flaming B-52 (RMB40) which is Lucy's favorite. The staff is attentive and eager to please and the noise level is perfect for actually being able to have a conversation with your friends. There are three televisions to watch the sport of the night whether it is snooker, rugby or table tennis. From 8-10pm to take advantage of the nightly buy-one-get-one free beer happy hour on your way to the hotter spots lining the street. While this isn't the coolest and hottest new spot in town to hang out, they have very reasonably priced drinks and very friendly staff. Not worth a special trip, but drop in for happy hour if you're in the neighborhood and looking to make a few new Chinese friends.
