You'll find a grittier, more affordable Bund experience at this basement venue. You'll be greeted by a long bar and a spacious seating area equipped with giant leather chairs. Although live jazz is no longer staged nightly, the pool table and the loyal, nostalgic patrons should be enough to keep you entertained.

Description

Beneath all the glamor and hype of the Bund, a revamped bistro rubs shoulders with Shanghai’s finest. The modest interior has all the markings of a cosy family restaurant and neighborhood pub hangout. Whilst surrounded by fashion couture houses and upscale galleries, Number 5 chooses to take a much humbler approach and line their walls with photo selections reflecting notable moments in Chinese history. Their play-list is also a reflection of their desire to standout among the “Red Glam M 18s,” thus playing a popular mix of rock, pop, R&B, hip-hop and 80s daily. Friendly staff serves affordably priced cuisine ranging from Asian, American and Continental cuisine prepared by skilled chefs. And depending on your mood, sociable bartenders quench your thirst with a wide array of generously over poured beverages. Although the neighbours have access to “jacuzzi, shark tank, terraces and/or spa,” Number 5 proudly offers free pool, foosball, shuffleboard, and darts on the Bund. If you’re in the area, drop by and say “how you doin’?” [HTML_REMOVED]

DIrty tubes that made the draft beer taste sour. They no longer accept the Enjoy Card but declined to tell us when we specifically asked on the phone. Empty and looking rather rough around the edges. Will be out of business in another six months.

Oh boy...Friday's relaunch of Wubar was off the hook. It was so much fun...the booze was non-stop flowing...and who would expect the Bund would have such a cozy and relax place. I didn't get to play any pool, too many people...but for sure I'll have to make my way out there again. Thumbs Up.
