Ensconced among some of some of Shanghai’s less classy bars on Tongren Lu, it appears Redbeat is trying to set itself apart. This bar offers live music performed by a fun and energetic house band, reasonable drink prices, slick red and black décor and a pool table to match.

It's about time they put a bar on Tongren that I can go to and not feel an inoridinate desire to wash my hands over and over again after I leave! This place has a spirited house band with a really talented guitarist. Drink prices are reasonable--about what you'd expect in this part of town. And the staff were quite friendly.

This live music venue is on the small side holding a max of 150 people but the owners invented heavily in the sound system and bar / bar menu to make it a space where people can enjoy a good atmosphere and great band.
