Cookie is like that lackluster friend you keep around because of one redeeming quality: he buys everyone drinks. The interior doesn’t rise too far above dive bar status–two rooms, each with a bar, a pool table in one and the sensible combination of dartboard and dance floor in the other. The drinks menu, meanwhile, could be easily reproduced at any American frat party. But the club’s existence is justified by its ridiculously cheap drinks. The real draw is Fridays and Saturdays when whisky, vodka, rum and gin go for just ￥10 a glass or ￥200 a bottle. Such prices nearly made up for the haphazard decor and a pina colada (￥30) that could have used a bit more pina. One further saving grace: the DJ was also remarkably receptive to our requests. There’s nothing like cheap drinks and all the ondemand hip-hop you can handle.
