City Weekend Says

This sumptuous wine bar has bottles from RMB118 (a French Cab Sauv) to RMB45,000 for a 1982 Chateau Lafite. Don't worry if the selection overwhelms you: talk to the sommelier, who will help you with your selection. Decor is leather, soft wood, warm tones and exposed brick. The floors, brick walls, wine storage, and tile-work were all salvaged from demolition sights around Shanghai in an attempt to preserve some of Shanghai’s rapidly disappearing old charm and history.

Contributor Description

The classic wine bar of Europe is now in Shanghai! Welcome to Dr. Wine.

No detail in Dr. Wine’s design has been overlooked. Leather couches, soft wood, warm brick and sparkling glassware give Dr. Wine an inviting and relaxing feel. Many recycled and rescued materials were used to create the wine bar’s timeless look.

As with the design, meticulous consideration was put in to the creation of Dr. Wine’s 130-bottle wine list. Overwhelmed by the choices? The sommelier is happy to walk you through the wine cellar and help choose a bottle that’s perfect for you.

Dr. Wine offers a classic wine bar menu. Imported meats and cheeses along with hearty rustic salads, soups, and sandwiches are the perfect accompaniment any wine you choose. The menu also features classic French pâtés and velvety chocolate desserts.

It’s just what the doctor ordered.
