Feast on Thai cuisine after a long day of exploring the city at this warmly lit and inviting eatery. You'll feel rejuvenated by a robust selection of foreign wines, golden fish cakes, rich, coconutty curries, lemongrass-laced pork and piquantly-seasoned prawns. The papaya and glass noodle salads are great starters. Delivery is available for orders over RMB50.
Simply Thai, Shanghai’s temple of Thai gastronomy opened its doors in 1999, bringing one of the world’s most favorite cuisines to this international city. One of a handful of independent restaurant pioneers in Shanghai, Simply Thai is consistently the most awarded restaurant in its category and continues to receive accolades from local as well as foreign publications for its delicious authentic cuisine, warm and welcoming ambience, excellent service and reasonable prices. Simply Thai has 6 outlets across Shanghai (Dongping, Xintiandi, Hongmei, Jinqiao, IFC & LA) as well as a speedy delivery service to allow you to enjoy the authentic taste of Thailand right in your own home. Simply Thai. An authentic touch of classic Thai.

Have been to several of the Simply Thai outlets across Shanghai and frankly, most have pretty mediocre food. The Jinqiao branch is probably the worst. Xintiandi is also disappointing. The only one we really enjoyed is the new one in the IFC, where the flavors were bright and fresh and there was some actual spice in the food. But even this one has its ups and downs -- when things are busy, quality drops quite substantially. But unfortunately there simply aren't many options for decent Thai food in Shanghai.
2nd visit. Again, huge menu of Thai delights makes the choices hard. The waitron botched my lunch order a bit on this visit, but no harm. Service was, otherwise, lightning fast and the food delectable.
Easy in and out when I was in a hurry, but for both visits there was a communication problem. Not that your waitron bringing the wrong dish would necessarily be a bad thing at ST, but my advice to patrons is, if your are absolutely set on what you want to eat, be ultra-clear on your order.
Will be back soon. The food gives me no choice.
Ordered the pork dish, lemongrass chicken, fried soft-shell crab, vegetarian pad thai, spring rolls, and mixed veggies w/ jasmine rice - all of which were served in generous portions. The mixed veggies were fresh and crisp (ever more rare in casual Shanghai dining), but the veggie sauce could have been spicier. Otherwise, each dish was outstanding - with proper presentation, textures and spices. Service was friendly, quick, and competent, but the food arrived in bursts. We were so busy eating what was in front of us, though, that it didn't matter. Simply, for food, this place was a winner.
The restaurant dining room could use a furniture/decor update and the building, a good scrub and scrape as well as some candles or more subtle lighting. More urgent, though was that mosquitoes and flies had the run (fly) of the dining room. Partly to blame is the breeding pond around which the restaurant is built (and the huge pond on the lawn). Just on the other side of the inner-walled glass atrium, mosquitoes line up, waiting for their chance to dine on humans. When the doors open, the parasite buffet is on. Find a solution for this, ST!
Overall, an easy in and out and, foodwise, a great value. Downright cheap for Shanghai. As the menu was large and there were many other interesting dishes that we could not try on this occasion, we will surely return, hoping, though, that ST has solved the parasites.
Tasty stuff, a classic Thai restaurant in Shanghai. Let it be your first choice when you crave for Thai flavours. The mixed platters are very generous, the various green curries are sure to please all the curry fans out there (me included!). Moreover, the locations are convenient and very cosy. Good place for a date.
Love this restaurant!! Very consistent, great customer service. My favorite dishes are the Green Curry with Chicken, The Pad Thai, and the Beef with Chili and Coriander. I order from this restaurant probably 3 times per week. They know my by my first name and are always very pleasant. Keep up the good work!
Thai is one of my most favourite cuisines in the world, I was not disappointed when I dined here recently. The appetiser platter was generous and delicious, the glass noodle salad was perfectly balanced (sweet, salty, sour all hit right notes) and the pineapple rice was so delicious. The kids had their own special menu and they loved their spring rolls too. It’s a standout in the row of other restaurants at the Green Entertainment centre and I definitely will be back as I live closeby.
