This boutique is a playground for nostalgia lovers. The shop owner has collected over 3,000 pieces of his favorite vintage clothing from around the world and put them on sale for fellow retro fashion addicts. The store also offers tailor services and professional fashion tips from the shop owner.

Old School Chic
Hidden deep inside a residential lane on Fuxing Zhong Lu, this antique clothing workshop is not an easy spot to find the first time. In case you have trouble, stick to the left side of the lane until you see two matte glass doors and you're on track to find this shopping heaven for nostalgia lovers. Housing over 3,000 pieces of vintage clothes–most of them from pre-1970s– Lao Zhai Workshop offers collections of hippie fashions, vintage Levis jeans, old Chinese qipiao and retro accessories. Every piece is unique, individually purchased by shop owner and local designer Zhai Peng. Although sometimes intimidating, you can shop without fear of a fashion violation since Zhai doles out free fashion advice if your new purchase poses a challenge to law and (fashion) order. The store also provides its own tailoring service to ensure you get the perfectly chic retro look.
