Led by British designer Alison Yeung, this shoe brand offers designs for young and upcoming fashionistas. All products use high quality materials sourced internationally.
“Each pair of Mary Ching shoes whispers absolute exclusivity.” – Alison Yeung, founder of Mary Ching
Mary Ching shoes are the ultimate luxury: the perfect pair of shoes. Gorgeous and original, creative and even witty, the Mary Ching collection is inspired by the creative personal style of the brand’s founder and designer, Alison Mary Ching Yeung.
Like Alison, who is a Chinese-British blend, Mary Ching shoes are a seamless blend of East and West, sophistication and ultra-luxe, restrained lines married with flamboyant feathers. Mary Ching is Asian aesthetics mixed with European style; The Mao loafer, for example, is based on the British penny loafer shoes, substituting a `mao’ coin for a penny. The Imperial Punk collection takes its inspiration from imperial high society – then adds an edge. Mary Ching uses colour – bold, lipstick reds and stark black-and-white – with its signature purple sole. The recently launched Forbidden Treasures collection fuses influences from Chinese Imperial treasures and the richness of China’s cultural heritage with quintessential British design.
The Founder
Alison Mary Ching Yeung is a graduate of the prestigious Central Saint Martin’s College of Art & Design and University of London’s King College, the latter in Business Management. Educated in England, France, Italy and China, Alison followed her entrepreneurial dreams to Shanghai to pursue her passion for shoe design.
The Mary Ching design studio
The Mary Ching Design Studio started in 2006, with Alison drawing on her experience with leading designers such as Hussein Chalayan, Ozwald Boateng and Julian McDonald to create an international luxury brand that is proud to be "Made in China".
The Mary Ching woman, says Alison, is international and cosmopolitan. She is glamorous, educated, adventurous, boisterous and uncompromising in her expectations and quality of lifestyle. She is strong, determined and unyielding of her preferences and tastes. She is witty, irreverent – a lot like Mary Ching shoes.
