The Hundred Acre Gold (RMB380) is one of most popular wines in Napa Reserve, a newly opened Napa wine shop on 383 Wei Hai Road in the town. In a wine industry first, Gold is bottled and released twice a year – in July from Southern Hemisphere grapes, and in November from Northern Hemisphere grapes – in order to make the freshest wines possible. Made entirely of un-oaked Chardonnay, the wine also receives a touch of pure 24 karat gold. The wine itself has aromas of white peach, pineapple, mint, spring flowers and lychee, and has a creamy texture and good density. Gold is a happy wine, and is perfect for gift-giving or everyday drinking.
